Welcome!

Welcome to our available animal listings.

Deciding on a new pet can be a daunting but rewarding experience. To help us match our pets with the right home, we ask that you complete the adoption enquiry form at the bottom of each listing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Does the Process Take?

Once you have made a decision to apply to adopt one of our pets, one of Central Queensland Animal Society’s volunteers will be in touch as soo as they can. As our organisation is run by volunteers, we appreciate your patience. Once we have spoken with you we will need to arrange a yard or home check depending on the pet you have applied for.

How Much Does Adopting Cost?

You will find the adoption fee for each pet listed with their details in their listing. Our adoption fee covers desexing, vaccinations & microchipping.

What Is the Difference Between Adopting and Fostering?

If you’re thinking of adopting but you aren’t sure if you’re ready to make a commitment, then Fostering may be for you. If you’re ready to commit then we encourage you to consider adopting.

Will I need Additional Veterinarian Services?

While we do have our animals thoroughly checked over by a vet we cannot always predict if a pet will require any future medical treatment once adopted. Like all pets, we expect that our adopters are prepared to arrange treatment for any requirements for their animals.

Can I take A Pet Home Directly From the Pound?

In Central Queensland you are not able to adopt a pet from the pound directly as it is required to be done by a registered animal resuce. If you are interested in any pets in the pound, please contact us to discuss.

CQASI Adoption Policy

All adoption enquiries must be done via our adotion form. Due to the high volume of animals on death row, our own familes, and paid jobs, we will endeavor to answer your enquiry as quickly as possible.

All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist. Please note that we will be treating any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
